September 25, 2008 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Web hosting provider 1&1 Internet (1and1.com) announced on Thursday it is offering a new line of eShop packages, an e-commerce solution priced at $9.99 a month that offers eBay integration, secure payment processing and advanced marketing tools.

This marks the second major addition this week to the company’s products and services portfolio, following Wednesday’s announcement where 1&1 introduced its new range of affordable dedicated servers.

The eShops are designed for small and medium-sized businesses and home users seeking an effective e-commerce platform with minimal cost.

1&1 US hosting customers will receive free e-commerce functionality with a basic level eZShop added to new and existing Home, Business and Developer Linux web hosting plans.

The 1&1 eShop package is a stand-alone e-commerce solution that can be built using the template-based Shop Designer, which enables user to create a professional e-commerce site within minutes, says the company.

“We’ve put a lot of time and effort into rebuilding our eShops to offer a more advanced range of packages which include more features that allow individuals to create their own professional ecommerce site,” says Oliver Mauss, CEO for 1&1 Internet. “1&1 eShops are an excellent way for anyone to affordably start retailing, and for serious merchants our eShops provide an array of features from promoting your shop on search engines to offering discounts to returning customers.”

1&1 eShop solutions range from the $9.99 a month Starter eShop, which includes up to 50 products; Professional eShop, priced at $24.99 a month, which offers up to 200 products; and the $49.99 per month Advanced eShop, which includes up to 20,000 products.

The company has added a free basic level e-commerce tool eZShop to all new and existing Home, Business and Developer Linux web hosting packages, which includes selected 1&1 eShop features.
