October 26, 2004 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Web hosting provider 1&1 Internet (oneandone.com) announced on Tuesday that it is offering .name domain registrations in the US market for $2.99 per year.
The limited offer will run until December 21, 2004 and is available with all of 1&1′s Web hosting packages. Existing customers are eligible to receive the price and there is no limit to the number of domains a customer can register.
“The .name promotion is intended to help our customers make a distinctive mark on the Web,” says Andreas Gauger, chairman of the board for 1&1 Internet. “It opens new possibilities for users who want to personalize their Web presence with a particular name that may not be available on another top level domain.
