October 26, 2004 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Web hosting provider 1&1 Internet (oneandone.com) announced on Tuesday that it is offering .name domain registrations in the US market for $2.99 per year.
The limited offer will run until December 21, 2004 and is available with all of 1&1′s Web hosting packages. Existing customers are eligible to receive the price and there is no limit to the number of domains a customer can register.
“The .name promotion is intended to help our customers make a distinctive mark on the Web,” says Andreas Gauger, chairman of the board for 1&1 Internet. “It opens new possibilities for users who want to personalize their Web presence with a particular name that may not be available on another top level domain. It’s an additional way for us to ensure that we’re giving our customers all they need to be successful.”
