August 5, 2002 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — European Web hosting and domain name registration company 1&1 Internet (1&1 Internet) announced on Monday that it has launched a program in which it will give away free .biz registrations in an effort to boost the acceptance of the extension in the UK.
1&1 says it will give away free .biz registrations with every purchase or transfer to 1&1 from August 1 to October 31 2002. The .biz program follows an earlier offer in which the company gave away .info domains.
The free .biz registration has been secured by NeuLevel, the ICANN-appointed registry and wholesale provider of .biz domain names.
