Gartner Hosts Data Center Summit

October 21, 2008 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- Independent IT research firm Gartner Research (www.gartner.com) announced on Tuesday it is hosting its 27th annual Gartner Data Center Conference (www.gartner.com/us/datacenter). The�event will explore new products and trends and provide real-world perspectives and strategies to transform data centers.
�Over the course of the three and a half day conference, over 2,000 attendees will discuss a range of pertinent topics including servers, IT operations, virtualization, storage, infrastructure challenges, business continuity and disaster recovery.
Gartner analysts will analyze the risk and rewards in next-generation virtualization technologies, providing their own insights on how to avoid creating new problems in the future.
This year's conference, in particular, will offer the deepest coverage of virtualization the event has ever had, says Gartner.
The event's speakers will investigate emerging storage technologies designed to help data center executives manage, secure, backup and archive the rapid growth in data.�Those participants running Unix, Linux, Windows and z/OS server environments will be able to find out about new management and operations technologies, processes and organizational structures designed to optimize the environment while maintaining critical business service levels.�The conference will feature keynotes and presentations from Tom Bittman, Gartner VP & distinguished analyst who will discuss "The Future of Infrastructure & Operations: The Engine of Cloud Computing"; Paul McGuckin, Gartner research VP and Donna Scott, Gartner VP and distinguished analyst, who will present "The Data Center Scenario: Planning for the Future"; Jason Jennings, business thought leader and author, who highlights "The 4 Traits of the World's Best Performing Business Leaders"; Carl Claunch, Gartner VP and disginguished analyst, who will take a look at the "Top Ten Disruptive Technologies Affecting the Data Center".
Finally, panalists Mark Thiele, director of business operations research and development for VMWare and Mark J.E. Bramfitt, principal program manager at PG&E, will discuss what participants can expect from the data center industry in "Mastermind Panel: The Future of the Data Center",
