Czech Web Hosting Market Growing

October 19, 2006 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- European-based auditing and market research firm HorMart (hormart.eu) announced on Tuesday the number of leased Web sites in the Czech Republic will rise by one fifth this year and overall sales from Web hosting will reach approximately $20 million.

According to HorMat, the top 10 domestic Web hosting providers now manage 150,000 leased Web sites. This year's estimated growth falls short of 2005's growth when the number of the leases jumped by 26 percent.

The market's leaders, Active 24 and P.E.S. consulting, together lease more than 74,000 virtual servers, roughly the same number as that managed by the remaining eight rivals from the top ten Web hosting providers chart, which includes Zoner, Web 4 U and Nethost.

HorMart says the number of registered Internet domains ending with .cz stands around 270,000 and thousands more users have registered international domains .eu, .com and other top-level domains.
