PEER 1 Offers Absolute Monitoring

By Justin Lee, October 15, 2008

October 15, 2008 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- Web hosting provider PEER 1 Network Enterprises (www.peer1.com) and application performance management service provider Absolute Performance (www.absolute-performance.com), announced on Wednesday that they have partnered to offer a range of advanced monitoring solutions to PEER 1's customers.

The new advanced solutions, available this quarter, will expand current offerings and offer in-depth analysis to help both customers and PEER 1 "better understand and meet IT needs to reduce risks and costs," while generating "more efficient, profitable systems."

"We are excited to partner with Absolute Performance, a recognized expert in this field," says Ted Smith, senior vice president of operations for PEER 1. "Absolute's comprehensive monitoring solutions will greatly strengthen PEER 1's ability to exceed our customer needs. Absolute's commitment to reliability and quality service aligns with PEER 1's own belief in providing customers the right tools to keep their businesses running smoothly."

The news follows PEER 1's recent launch of the PEER 1 Partner Network, an integrated referral and reseller program aimed at web developers, system integrators and IT consultants.

By partnering with Absolute Performance, the company's customers can customize the level of monitoring that best fits their business, choosing from basic to full application monitoring, synthetic transactions and complete stress test tools.

These comprehensive services help solve the needs of IT monitoring, management and reporting stack, including server, OS, database and application monitoring, and management.

As a result, customers are given more access and visibility into their system performance and capacity, providing key information to make important business decisions.

Earlier this year, Absolute Performance partnered with data center operator Fortrust through a new service marketed as Fortrust Managed Services.

The demand for managed services continues to grow as companies increasingly rely upon constant uptime and highly reliable services to support critical applications and systems that support a business' viability.

By partnering with Absolute, PEER 1 is able to provide the needs to "manage those systems, identify opportunities, predict challenges and help plan for growth" to its customers.

PEER 1 provides a range of services including managed hosting, dedicated hosting through the ServerBeach brand, and colocation to more than 10,000 customers.

Absolute Performance delivers products and services that help organizations get more productivity and value from their business critical applications, e-commerce sites and on-demand application performance to end users.

October 2009 - Web Hosting's All Star Team
This has been, for us, one of the most interesting, exciting and challenging build-ups to an issue of the magazine yet, Web Hosting's All Star Team. The balloting process was our first experiment with a kind of user participation we're planning to do a lot more with in the months to come. We had thousands of ballots submitted, with hundreds of write-in suggestions and a demonstration of user engagement that has us feeling super positive about the project.

July 2009 - What am I Worth?
One of the interesting luxuries of working on a project like the printed WHIR magazine is that it allows us to play with things like our point of view from one issue to the next. In recent months we've been giving added attention to the kind of practical and applicable advice aimed at smaller hosts and resellers. This issue carries on with that point of view, asking, in our cover story, "what am I worth?" It's a complicated question without a clear-cut answer.

May 2009 - The Blueprint for a Small Web Host
I was a little surprised by how difficult it became to see this idea through. We set out to assemble a blueprint for a small hosting business, but butted up pretty quickly against the general impossibility of covering all the territory that was out there to be covered. The basic constraints of a printed magazine, and the less-than-infinite amount of time we had available forced us to face the fact that we could never produce an exhaustive guide to starting a hosting company.
