October 9, 2007 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- Data center developer and operator 365 Main (365main.com) announced on Tuesday it has been selected for the second consecutive year to provide a virtual data center tour at the 7x24 Exchange International (7x24exchange.org) annual fall conference. 365 Main senior VP and founding partner Jean Paul Balajadia will lead the virtual tour of the company's Chandler, Arizona facility at 3:45 p.m. on October 29.
This year's conference, entitled "End-to-End Reliability: Mission-Critical Systems," will take place October 28 to 31 in Grapevine, Texas. It is designed for anyone involved with around-the-clock infrastructures, including IT, data center, disaster recovery and network/telecommunications managers, supervisors and engineers, as well as vendors, consultants and those concerned with uninterrupted access to critical information.
Launched last year, 365 Main's 315,000-square-foot Chandler facility is expected to be fully leased by the end of the year. The 45-minute video tour will discuss how the building was constructed and how the data center operates, challenges faced during construction, how 365 Main increased the power density to more than twice the original design, electrical and mechanical systems, contingency plans and emergency procedures, quality controls and energy-efficient best practices.
Last year's 7x24 Exchange International conference offered a similar tour of 365's Main's flagship 227,000-square-foot data center in San Francisco, California. The company says that more than 500 people attended.
"Being selected two years in a row to showcase one of our data centers at such a prestigious event is a big honor of which we are very proud," says Chris Dolan, president and CEO of 365 Main. "We're more than happy to participate and hope this year's attendees enjoy their virtual visit to our Chandler facility."
365 Main announced in August it guest hosted a data center tour at the Site Uptime Network's Fall Conference.

October 2009 - Web Hosting's All Star Team
This has been, for us, one of the most interesting, exciting and challenging build-ups to an issue of the magazine yet, Web Hosting's All Star Team. The balloting process was our first experiment with a kind of user participation we're planning to do a lot more with in the months to come. We had thousands of ballots submitted, with hundreds of write-in suggestions and a demonstration of user engagement that has us feeling super positive about the project.

July 2009 - What am I Worth?
One of the interesting luxuries of working on a project like the printed WHIR magazine is that it allows us to play with things like our point of view from one issue to the next. In recent months we've been giving added attention to the kind of practical and applicable advice aimed at smaller hosts and resellers. This issue carries on with that point of view, asking, in our cover story, "what am I worth?" It's a complicated question without a clear-cut answer.

May 2009 - The Blueprint for a Small Web Host
I was a little surprised by how difficult it became to see this idea through. We set out to assemble a blueprint for a small hosting business, but butted up pretty quickly against the general impossibility of covering all the territory that was out there to be covered. The basic constraints of a printed magazine, and the less-than-infinite amount of time we had available forced us to face the fact that we could never produce an exhaustive guide to starting a hosting company.
