(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- India-based managed hosting provider Netmagic Solutions (www.netmagicsolutions.com) announced on Tuesday it has added a new carrier-neutral data center to support the global expansion of businesses into India.
The announcement follows the launch of its cloud services earlier this year, which includes CloudNet, CloudServe and PrivateCloud.
The 30,000 square feet data center in Chennai, the company's fifth data center in India, offers world-class infrastructure, ample power, near-100 percent uptime, and a power-efficient design, according to NetMagic. The company owns and operates four other carrier-neutral data centers in Mumbai and Bangalore.
"Successful global expansion requires that organizations have local IT infrastructure to ensure the highest levels of availability and performance for business-critical resources," says Sandip Gupta, president of Netmagic Solutions. "By continuing to expand our world-class data center infrastructure, comprehensive services portfolio, deep technical expertise and proven service delivery framework, Netmagic makes it easy for customers to establish and scale their businesses and services in India."
Netmagic will offer its complete portfolio of manage hosting services out of the new Chennai facility, which meets Tier III standards and was designed to eliminate any single point of failure.
The ISO 27001 certified data center is equipped with state-of-the-art equipment for cooling, power management, security and automation.
NetMagic's data centers offer a range of features, including raised floors, HVAC temperature control systems, air-sense aspirating smoke detection, FM 200 based fire suppression systems, video camera surveillance systems, biometric access & sensors, security breach alarms, and on site power systems with redundant diesel generators.

October 2009 - Web Hosting's All Star Team
This has been, for us, one of the most interesting, exciting and challenging build-ups to an issue of the magazine yet, Web Hosting's All Star Team. The balloting process was our first experiment with a kind of user participation we're planning to do a lot more with in the months to come. We had thousands of ballots submitted, with hundreds of write-in suggestions and a demonstration of user engagement that has us feeling super positive about the project.

July 2009 - What am I Worth?
One of the interesting luxuries of working on a project like the printed WHIR magazine is that it allows us to play with things like our point of view from one issue to the next. In recent months we've been giving added attention to the kind of practical and applicable advice aimed at smaller hosts and resellers. This issue carries on with that point of view, asking, in our cover story, "what am I worth?" It's a complicated question without a clear-cut answer.

May 2009 - The Blueprint for a Small Web Host
I was a little surprised by how difficult it became to see this idea through. We set out to assemble a blueprint for a small hosting business, but butted up pretty quickly against the general impossibility of covering all the territory that was out there to be covered. The basic constraints of a printed magazine, and the less-than-infinite amount of time we had available forced us to face the fact that we could never produce an exhaustive guide to starting a hosting company.
