October 1, 2008 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- Global engineering network Engineering.com (engineering.com) has selected IT services and infrastructure firm Fusepoint Managed Services's (fusepoint.com) scalable hosting solutions for its website.

Engineering.com serves a worldwide audience of engineers, delivering content and online services including downloads, email service, online calculators and job postings.

According to Engineering.com's announcement Wednesday, its growing audience and suite of free online services have caused massive business growth. It chose to partner with Fusepoint to increase reliability and expand its international reputation as the leading online community for engineers.

"If the site experiences downtime, we start losing money that very second," Engineering.com director of operations Jon Semkiw said in a statement. "Fusepoint was the clear choice for us when it came to meeting our need for a flexible IT infrastructure solution that would allow us to scale up our bandwidth to accommodate spikes and growth in web traffic."

Engineering.com recently completed the full migration of its hardware to Fusepoint's Mississauga facility, outside of Toronto. The company will rely on Fusepoint for IT services including colocation, bandwidth, data back-up, RSA authentication and end-to-end monitoring and reporting.

At the beginning of August, Fusepoint was selected by the Canadian Liver Foundation (liver.ca) to host and maintain its mission-critical infrastructure of its operations and fundraising. It also underwent a major technical overhaul to guarantee the security and safety of donor information.
