September 26, 2008 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- Web hosting provider Host Color (hostcolor.com) announced on Friday it has launched its entry-level Virtuozzo VPS hosting service "VPS Start" is priced at $19.95 per month and features 192MB RAM, 10GB disc space and 50GB data transfer per month.
This is the second new hosting plan that Host Color has launched this week. On Tuesday, the company announced it launched its new WordPress hosting service, which is designed for the growing community of WordPress site owners.
The nature of these plans suggest that Host Color is making a considerable effort to customize its plans for individual customers and businesses, designing them with the ideal specifications to suit their needs.
The Virtuozzo-powered VPS Start plan (hostcolor.com/vps/vps-start) is a scalable, entry-level VPS solution designed for online business owners to further develop and grow their sites as they grow their businesses.
VPS Start is offered with a choice of a Plesk, cPanel or NextColor (nextcolor.com) web hosting control panel. The plan features 192MB RAM, 10GB disc space and 50GB data transfer per month.
For customers who need to use management services, Host Color is offering FM VPS, a fully managed service for VPS priced at $49.95 per month. The solution includes initial set-up, IP management, OS installation and maintenance, Anti-Virus and Anti-Spam installation, reboots, VPS recovery, control panel updates, and resource monitoring.
Although Host Color powers its VPS accounts using Cent OS, customers can install any other Linux distributions or as a part of FM VPS service agreement.
"We customize VPS hosting to better serve our business hosting customers," says Alexander Avramov, managing director of Host Color. "This means a choice of Linux OS distribution, installation and maintenance of all applications they can run under Linux OS in their virtual servers."
Last week, Host Color launched its new Affiliate Program, which transfers 25 percent of the company's revenue per sale to its affiliates, a well as pays them for each unique visitor sent to Host Color's website.
Host Color provides fully managed dedicated hosting through HC Servers (hostcolorservers.com) and European hosting services through HC Europe (hostcolor.eu).

October 2009 - Web Hosting's All Star Team
This has been, for us, one of the most interesting, exciting and challenging build-ups to an issue of the magazine yet, Web Hosting's All Star Team. The balloting process was our first experiment with a kind of user participation we're planning to do a lot more with in the months to come. We had thousands of ballots submitted, with hundreds of write-in suggestions and a demonstration of user engagement that has us feeling super positive about the project.

July 2009 - What am I Worth?
One of the interesting luxuries of working on a project like the printed WHIR magazine is that it allows us to play with things like our point of view from one issue to the next. In recent months we've been giving added attention to the kind of practical and applicable advice aimed at smaller hosts and resellers. This issue carries on with that point of view, asking, in our cover story, "what am I worth?" It's a complicated question without a clear-cut answer.

May 2009 - The Blueprint for a Small Web Host
I was a little surprised by how difficult it became to see this idea through. We set out to assemble a blueprint for a small hosting business, but butted up pretty quickly against the general impossibility of covering all the territory that was out there to be covered. The basic constraints of a printed magazine, and the less-than-infinite amount of time we had available forced us to face the fact that we could never produce an exhaustive guide to starting a hosting company.
