Verio Attracts Resellers with Free Month of VPS Hosting: Companies looking to boost revenues are finding Verio's Free VPS promotion the right fit for getting started as Hosting Reseller.

September 21, 2007 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- German Web hosting provider Strato (strato.com) announced on Thursday it plans to completely cut CO2 emissions at its two data centers by January 2008.

The company says it has already made significant efforts to reduce emissions, lowering them by 30 percent over the past 18 months by using energy efficient hardware, intelligent building engineering and platform-optimized software.

The company says it plans to use hydro electric power from the Rhine River. The switch to hydro will not affect pricing, and if anything, may result in savings for their customers, says the company.

Strato CEO Damien Schmidt says that he hopes that other companies will follow its example in reducing CO2 emissions in their data centers.
