September 11, 2008 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- Many hosts and domain registrars have announced deals in the first weeks of September. ResellerClub and DomainPeople are offering cheap domains, Host595 is trying to attract new customers, and Hostway is giving away iPhones.
ICANN-accredited registrar ResellerClub (resellerclub.com) announced its month-long suite of promos entitled "Smashing September." According to the company, its Smashing September promotion gives resellers discounts on various top-level domain extensions including .ME at $22.99, .MOBI at $5.88, .TV at $24.99, and .NET at $5.49 per month. The company also offers renewals starting at $6.89.
Registrar DomainPeople (domainpeople.com) is now offering .Pro domain name registrations under the newly expanded registration criteria for $19.95 for the first year, and $35.00 after. Earlier this year, ICANN loosened its criteria, allowing virtually all professionals worldwide to qualify to register .Pro domain names.
Shared, Linux-based web host Host595 (host595.com) launched its first-ever "One Year, One Dollar" hosting promotion, allowing customers switching from another host to receive an entire year of premium hosting for one dollar. The little-known web host said qualifying customers can use the coupon code "host595ref" at the checkout. After the first year, Host595 will charge at its regular monthly rate of $5.95.
Hosting provider and domain registrar Hostway (hostway.com) has given away the second of three 16 GB Apple iPhones as part of a free promotional giveaway for customers who signed up for five or more Microsoft Exchange accounts between June 17 and September 17. One more drawing will take place on September 25.
