September 8, 2008 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- Web hosting and data center operator Liquid Web (liquidweb.com) announced on Monday it has completed a brand new data center video tour that is featured on the front page of its website.
The new data center video uses recent high definition video technology and state of the art production methods to provide a realistic simulation of a physical data center walk through.
The website also features other data center videos addressing its Tier 1 premium bandwidth, onsite security, and power system.
In July, Liquid Web opened the doors to its Data Center 3, a new 90,000 square foot facility that houses 25,000 new customer servers and 600 new engineers.
The data center video tour runs just under 8 minutes and covers all aspects of Liquid Web's product offerings including Heroic Support, Sonar Monitoring, security, network infrastructure, power systems, environmental processing systems and N+1 redundancy.
"Unlike many web hosting companies that rely on third party video production houses to produce their data center tours, the Liquid Web data center tour was completely produced by the in-house marketing experts at Liquid Web," says Jason Grasshoff, creative lead for Liquid Web. "Every word, scene, camera angle, jib arm shot and production effect was crafted by Liquid Web to provide a realistic experience for our website visitors."
Last month, FORTRUST launched its new website for its own Denver data center, which offered visually detailed look at the Denver data center's interior and the extensive range of colocation and managed services it offers.
Liquid Web says it provides web hosting services to over 20,000 customers in over 120 countries. The company has three wholly owned data center facilities located in Lansing, Michigan.
In July, Liquid Web launched a data protection services based on R1Soft's continuous data protection technology.

October 2009 - Web Hosting's All Star Team
This has been, for us, one of the most interesting, exciting and challenging build-ups to an issue of the magazine yet, Web Hosting's All Star Team. The balloting process was our first experiment with a kind of user participation we're planning to do a lot more with in the months to come. We had thousands of ballots submitted, with hundreds of write-in suggestions and a demonstration of user engagement that has us feeling super positive about the project.

July 2009 - What am I Worth?
One of the interesting luxuries of working on a project like the printed WHIR magazine is that it allows us to play with things like our point of view from one issue to the next. In recent months we've been giving added attention to the kind of practical and applicable advice aimed at smaller hosts and resellers. This issue carries on with that point of view, asking, in our cover story, "what am I worth?" It's a complicated question without a clear-cut answer.

May 2009 - The Blueprint for a Small Web Host
I was a little surprised by how difficult it became to see this idea through. We set out to assemble a blueprint for a small hosting business, but butted up pretty quickly against the general impossibility of covering all the territory that was out there to be covered. The basic constraints of a printed magazine, and the less-than-infinite amount of time we had available forced us to face the fact that we could never produce an exhaustive guide to starting a hosting company.
