Betfair Deploys BladeLogic Solution

September 6, 2006 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- Data center automation software provider BladeLogic (bladelogic.com) announced on Tuesday that online betting exchange Betfair (betfair.com) has selected BladeLogic's software to automate its server management initiatives.

Betfair will initially use BladeLogic to automate the complex processes for building environments on its development and quality assurance servers, and the deployment of code across multiple platforms. In the past, both of these processes were done manually and required extensive staffing.

BladeLogic's automation capabilities enable Betfair to significantly reduce the amount of time it takes to service requests by the company's release team, enabling that team to work on other IT initiatives. Betfair will later expand its use of BladeLogic to include server auditing and compliance, change and configuration control and security and patch management.

"Through its selection of BladeLogic, Betfair now has an end-to-end solution that can automate all of its server management processes and guarantee that its server environment is always up and running," says Luca Lazzaron, VP of EMEA for BladeLogic. "We are very excited to have Betfair as a customer and look forward to helping them to optimize their server infrastructure."
