Slim CD Picks Terremark Data Center

August 31, 2006 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- Data center operator Terremark Worldwide (terremark.com) announced on Thursday that credit card processing software and gateway system developer SLIM CD (slimcd.com) has selected Terremark's NAP of the Americas to deploy its new credit card processing and gateway systems.

SLIM CD's gateway systems provide credit card processing services to retail, restaurant, hotel, auto-rental, mail order and e-commerce merchants around the US. The SLIM CD systems' availability and "always-on" capabilities are essential components of the SLIM CD service offerings to its customers.

"We conducted an in-depth review of a number of large colocation data centers all across America, and concluded Terremark's NAP of the Americas offerings were the most attractive for all of our needs," says Sami Slim, president and CEO of SLIM. "The combination of security features, Internet service, uninterrupted power, and a storm-proof facility provided us with a locally-accessible data center that can withstand wind events and remain operational to ensure our customers the most reliable services."

The SLIM CD includes a desktop application, data on demand and fraud detection services. The software product is distributed through banks, financial institutions, and ISOs for distribution to merchants, where it is charged on a fee per transaction with a small monthly minimum basis.
