Blacknight Adds Ruby on Rails
August 31, 2006 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- Irish Web hosting provider and domain registrar Blacknight Solutions (blacknight.ie) announced on Thursday it has launched Ruby on Rails suppport for its Linux based hosting clients.
Developers looking to try out the new technology can get up and running in a couple of minutes, says the company. The latest versions of both Ruby on Rails and Ruby gems are available, enabling Web developers to produce applications quickly and easily.
The open source Web application framework is written in Ruby and follows the Model-View-Controller architecture. It allows applications to be developed using less code and a minimum level of configuration, allowing for faster and more cost-effective Web development.
"We're as passionate about technology as our clients, so we're delighted to be able to offer Ruby On Rails to the Irish Web community," says Michele Neylon, Blacknight CEO.
