August 28, 2008 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- Toronto-based Web host Cirrus Tech (cirrushosting.com) is now offering Web, standard, and data center editions of Windows Server 2008 for its dedicated server hosting plans, letting customers use Microsoft's Hyper-V and Terminal Services RemoteApp technologies.

According to Cirrus Tech's Tuesday announcement, customers can order a dedicated server with Windows Server 2008 as a robust web hosting solution that offers high availability, security and reliability. Cirrus Tech offers dedicated servers starting at about $80 per month and will continue to give customers the option of  installing Windows Server 2003 and a number of Linux distributions.

Building on the strengths of  Windows Server 2003, Microsoft has added additional benefits including virtualization application Hyper-V and Terminal Services RemoteApp, which provides off-site access to Windows-based programs.

CirrusTech is the latest Web host to announce its Hyper-V capabilities. Earlier in August, managed and dedicated hosting provider HostMySite (hostmysite.com) announced it would be offering Hyper-V hosting, joining other hosts such as Layered Tech (layeredtech.com) and PacHosting (pachosting.com) as early adopters of Microsoft's Hyper-V.
