August 13, 2008 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- Content management system developer Bitrix (bitrixsoft.com) has announced a powerful new Media Player addition to its Bitrix Site Manager, letting users embed an unlimited number of video streams into their Web sites.
According to the company's announcement Wednesday, Bitrix Site Manager will be enriched with the social networking capabilities of Media Player to help Bitrix's CMS meet its continuing goal of keeping up with Web 2.0 standards. With the Media Player, users can create portals similar to YouTube, Google Video, MySpace, Metacafe, and other video sharing sites.
"Media content is the key feature of most up-to-date websites catching users' attention," Bitrix chief executive officer Sergey Rizhikov said in a statement. "Adding live content is a must-have component of any online project. Our Media Player brings this to Bitrix Site Manager-powered sites."
Bitrix (bitrixsoft.com), which manages popular magazine sites for foreign editions of Cosmopolitan (cosmo.ru) and Harper's Bazaar (bazaar.ru), offering stable, functional and secure CMS products at a range of price points.
The user-friendly Media Player promises to seamless integrate powerful Flash and Silverlight technologies, like those US broadcaster NBC (nbc.com) used to stream Olympic events.
The Media Player is included in all Bitrix Site Manager editions from the $249 entry-level version to a fully-equipped business version at $9,990.
