August 5, 2008 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- Domain registrar and web hosting provider Go Daddy (godaddy.com) announced on Tuesday that Go Daddy racer Ron Fellows won the NASCAR Nationwide Series race this past weekend at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve in Montreal, Canada.
The win follows "Go Daddy Girl" Danica Patrick's landmark Japan 300 victory in April, which made her the first woman in history to win an IndyCar Series race.
Fellows drove the No. 5 Go Daddy Chevrolet, marking his first time behind the wheel of the Go Daddy sponsored race car and the first NASCAR win for Go Daddy.
"It's exhilarating Ron Fellows brought the No. 5 GoDaddy.com Chevrolet to Victory Lane," says Bob Parsons, CEO and founder at Go Daddy. "All the pieces just came together...the race was in Canada, Ron is a Canadian fan favorite and he's a road course expert."
Go Daddy is the sponsor of the No. 5 Go Daddy Chevrolets in six of this season's Nationwide Series races. Nascar driver Dale Earnhardt, another Go Daddy spokesman, designed the No. 5 Go Daddy Chevrolets along with racing the car April 5 in Texas.
Earnhardt will race the car again at the Watkins Glen next August 9, with Mark Martin to follow in Michigan on August 16 and in Kansas September 27.
Last month, Go Daddy signed a broadcast sponsorship of NASCAR Napa Auto Parts 200 on Canadian sports network TSN.
Go Daddy also announced it donated $50,000 to help Arizona pets during Saturday's Arizona Humane Society's annual telethon. The company also used its expertise to organize online donations, helped answer phones and kept the live event's website running seamlessly, the company says.
The sponsorship marks the third consecutive year Go Daddy co-sponsored the telethon to help animals.
The company recently entered into the Canadian market with its new subsidiary, Go Daddy Domains Canada. The Canadian subsidiary is offering .ca domain names at competitive prices, around the clock customer support and the opportunity to receive additional products and services for free.

October 2009 - Web Hosting's All Star Team
This has been, for us, one of the most interesting, exciting and challenging build-ups to an issue of the magazine yet, Web Hosting's All Star Team. The balloting process was our first experiment with a kind of user participation we're planning to do a lot more with in the months to come. We had thousands of ballots submitted, with hundreds of write-in suggestions and a demonstration of user engagement that has us feeling super positive about the project.

July 2009 - What am I Worth?
One of the interesting luxuries of working on a project like the printed WHIR magazine is that it allows us to play with things like our point of view from one issue to the next. In recent months we've been giving added attention to the kind of practical and applicable advice aimed at smaller hosts and resellers. This issue carries on with that point of view, asking, in our cover story, "what am I worth?" It's a complicated question without a clear-cut answer.

May 2009 - The Blueprint for a Small Web Host
I was a little surprised by how difficult it became to see this idea through. We set out to assemble a blueprint for a small hosting business, but butted up pretty quickly against the general impossibility of covering all the territory that was out there to be covered. The basic constraints of a printed magazine, and the less-than-infinite amount of time we had available forced us to face the fact that we could never produce an exhaustive guide to starting a hosting company.
