July 23, 2008 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- Message board host URLJet (urljet.com) has launched its File Guardian Web Backup service, introducing round-the-clock message board backups for its vBulletin (vbulletin.com) databases.

Available only from URLJet, File Guardian fully manages continuously backed up vBulletin message boards, nearly eliminating the chance of data loss in the event of a disaster. With restore points securely stored in a remote facility, each database can be recovered minutes after a disaster or accidental data loss using R1Soft's (r1soft.com) true granular restore technology.

"For owners of vBulletin message boards, the most valuable asset they own is the content in their database," URLJet chief executive officer Todd Reagor said in a statement.  "Since this information is changed rapidly as end users interact with the message board, it is imperative to have an up-to-the-minute backup to utilize in the event of a disaster. Without a current backup, years of posts, member lists, and other crucial data can be lost in an instant after something as minor as a hard drive failure or upgrade gone wrong."

File Guardian is powered by R1Soft's CDP Server, which directly reads hard disk volumes at the sector level, bypassing the file system, protecting active MySQL databases without noticeable impact on server performance.

URLJet provides File Guardian at no additional charge to its vBulletin hosting customers with the addition of a free vBulletin license to every annually renewed account.
