July 23, 2008 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- Regional telecommunications provider D&E Communications (decommunications.com) announced on Wednesday it has partnered with on-demand service platform operator Jamcracker (jamcracker.com) to deliver software services to small and medium businesses in Pennsylvania.

The company says the new offerings are available immediately. The announcement comes a little over a month after Jamcracker's last partnership agreement with marketing services firm NextGen Marketing Group.

In this most recent agreement, D&E says it will use the Jamcracker Services Delivery Network to offer Business Applications On-Demand, a suite of Internet-delivered security, collaboration, and business applications on a monthly subscription basis. D&E is also leveraging Jamcracker's WebStore Gold Edition to enable businesses to order application services on-line.

The telco says it will initially offer a set of key software services, individually or as a bundle, including Hosted Microsoft Exchange (with Goodlink and Blackberry), McAfee Total Protection for Small Business, ViaRemote PC backup and restore and VMobility - Remote PC Access.

The partnership will enable D&E to offer on-demand applications alongside its business-class networking, business continuity, IT, security and voice solutions without making any major capital investments in a delivery infrastructure, says the company.

"Our new Business Applications On-Demand are a natural complement to the advanced technologies we currently offer our customers in Pennsylvania," says Dave Moore, VP of business development and marketing of D&E Communications. "Providing our small and medium sized businesses with on-demand applications that do not require maintenance by an onsite IT professional is just part of D&E's focus on cutting-edge services for today and tomorrow's interactive environment."

Jamcracker's Services Delivery Network enables SaaS and other managed solution vendors to profitably deliver on-demand services to business customers through a fast-growing ecosystem of telcos, VARs, and MSPs, says the company.

In June, Jamcracker introduced its MSP LaunchPad service, an offering the company describes as an, "out of the box set of on-demand services and software for VARs that want to enter the high margin managed service provider business."
