July 23, 2008 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- BroadGroup (broadgroup.com) announced on Wednesday that its 3rd Power and Cooling for Data Centres - World Forum (datacentres.com/pac) event will feature presentations from speakers in the field of power, cooling, green and innovative technologies.

The lineup of speakers includes representatives from Microsoft, McKinsey, eBay, APC, Symantec and Copan Systems. Michael Manos, senior director of data center services at Microsoft, will provide a keynote address at the event.

The world data center forum, endorsed by BICSI Europe (bicsieurope.org), will be held October 2 to 3 at the Millennium Gloucester Convention Centre in London, UK. The event will see attendees from more than 23 countries outside the UK.

The event will feature a range of pertinent topics including methods to reduce the cost of power, blade and storage technology impact, power failure, design requirements for high density environments, monitoring technologies, water and liquid cooling technologies, chip level cooling, nanotechnology and alternative sources of energy.

"Power and Cooling World Forum will be a compelling learning experience, an outstanding networking opportunity to meet thought leaders and top experts in the data center sector and international peers," says BroadGroup VP Nicola Hayes, "and also offers a valuable exhibition opportunity for companies seeking to raise awareness of their products and services in this very competitive marketplace."

All the presentations at the event will be submitted to BICSI for the awarding of Continuing Education Credits. Sponsors of the event include Upsite Technologies, Invest in Iceland, Migration Solutions, Microsoft and Daxten.

Last month, the Silicon Valley Leadership Group launched its first annual Data Center Energy Summit 2008 at the Sun Microsystems campus in Santa Clara, California. The event focused on sustainable data center design, energy efficient engineering and operational practices for green computing.
