July 22, 2008 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- California-based hosting provider DiscountASP.NET (discountasp.net) has announced its new, London data center as its first expansion into Europe, bringing Windows 2008, Windows 2003 and SQL hosting to current and new European customers.
"We have a large European customer base and we wanted to address their concerns of website latency issues due to data transport over long distances," DiscountASP.NET vice president of marketing Takeshi Eto said in a statement. "Our global expansion is a strategic move for us, and now, with our ASP.NET hosting infrastructure available in the UK, we can better serve our international customers."
Under development for the past year, DiscountASP.NET partnered with Equinix (equinix.com) its state-of-the-art data center infrastructure services to bring the London data center online. The ASP.NET hosting infrastructure solution is powered by DELL servers (dell.com), NetApp SAN storage solutions (netapp.com), and VMware virtualization solutions (vmware.com) .
"For a seamless experience, customers can select the data center location where they desire to host their website as part of our online ordering process and after successful order submission, the website account will be instantly setup. And we did not leave out our existing customers; we have a team ready to assist in data center location migration," Eto said.
Last month, DiscountASP.NET expanded their worldwide services when they started offering Microsoft SQL 2008 beta (microsoft.com/sqlserver/2008) at no extra charge to all customers.
