July 19, 2007 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- Dedicated hosting provider The Planet (theplanet.com) announced on Wednesday it is offering two mid-summer promotions for new server orders. The Double Down promotion offers twice the RAM, hard-drive space or bandwidth at no additional cost. 

The unmetered bandwidth promotion offers customers unlimited access to a 10Mbps uplink from the company�s multiple Tier-1 providers for $50 per month. And for $250 per month, users can upgrade to a 20Mbps uplink.

"Increasing server performance and direct connections to the Internet via Tier-1 telecom providers are two of the most critical areas of focus for building a Web based business," says The Planet's director of product management Urvish Vashi. "Through our aggressive seasonal promotions, we're delivering the ideal price performance package for servers and unmetered bandwidth with 10Mbps to 20Mbps uplinks.  With Double Down, we're providing the ability to increase server performance at no additional cost."

The Planet announced earlier this week that it will be promoting its "Lowest Hosting Price on The Planet" special while exhibiting at HostingCon 2007.
