July 18, 2008 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- Colocation facility AtlantaNAP (atlantanap.com/about.php) announced Thursday it has expanded its recently opened Atlanta colocation facility, adding 12,500 square feet of raised floor, Tier 3 space.
Completed in May, AtlantaNAP's Enterprise Data Center 2 is the city's newest, large-scale data and disaster recovery center, according to the company. Engineered to cater to enterprise customers, the new Data Center features 36 inch raised floors, state-of-the-art high density power capability and hot air containment, built by parent company Global Net Access (gnax.net).
Currently 75 percent the total 50,000 square feet of the facility are built and online, with 8,000 square feet available for rent and the remaining already occupied through pre sales.
"We believe this will bring in additional enterprise and corporate customers who are looking for Atlanta colocation with the best combination of facility, security and service for their money," AtlantaNAP president Jeff Hinkle said in a statement.
Located in a city with the 62nd highest property crime rate, according to the latest FBI statistics, AtlantaNAP has installed security measures including a 10-foot razor fence, key carded entry, redundant security camera servers, biometric handprint scanning, and armed security guards.
Earlier in July, colocation and managed hosting provider Data393 (data393.com) expanded the area of raised flooring of its Denver facility to about 30,000 square feet.
