July 18, 2007 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- Dedicated server hosting company SoftLayer Technologies (softlayer.com) announced on Wednesday that it has added facilities and office space following a period of steady and increasing sales.

The company says it has added a 6,000 square-foot network operations center in Dallas, Texas. The facility began operating July 1 and acts as the command NOC for all of the company's internal systems and the customer NOC for customer escalations. The facility is staffed round-the-clock by 50 engineers who aid in testing and problem resolution.

"From the beginning, SoftLayer has adhered to a methodical growth strategy that aligns with our financial, operational, and development strategies," says Lance Crosby, chairman and CEO of SoftLayer. "This commitment has resulted in our company surpassing sales of 10,000 severs in record time and given us the ability to broaden our resources, offerings, and capabilities."

SoftLayer says it has also begun expansion of its current data center. The project is slated for completion in January of 2008, and will add capacity for 12,000 additional dedicated servers, for a total capacity of 30,000 machines.

The company is also expanding its corporate headquarters by more than 20,000 square feet to accommodate new accounting, sales and development team members. The expanded site will include lab facilities for research and development of new products, as well as backup NOC facilities.

Last month, SoftLayer announced that it had enhanced its updating technology for the cPanel control panel software.
