July 17, 2008 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- North Carolina-based hosting services provider Netriplex (netriplex.com) is expanding its Asheville, North Carolina data center by 50 percent to be completed August 1 in a effort to offer greater emergency support including temporary office space for clients in case of natural or man-made disasters.
Netriplex chief technology officer Jonathan Hoppe says the expansion of the currently 15,000 sqare foot, SAS70-certified datacenter will help businesses maintain their enterprise in any number of apocalyptic scenarios.
"Whether there's a flood, fire, major equipment failure or other unforeseen disruption, companies must keep critical employees and critical data operational," said Hoppe in a statement. "With our Asheville datacenter as the hub, we now provide a fully integrated business continuity solution including reserved temporary office space with advanced telecommunications, unlimited Internet connectivity, ready-to-use PCs, servers, printers, even a completely replicated IT infrastructure available at a moment's notice 24 hours a day."
Netriplex said the new expansion reflects growing concern over regulatory compliance requirements, business threats and technology dependence and business continuity planning is essential for corporations.
With the series of 112 tornados touching down in the southeastern and Middle Atlantic region of the US in between May 7 and May 15, killing 28, the Asheville facility may be a key location for businesses in the area in case of all-too-frequent emergencies.
While no plans have been announced to further their emergency services to other locations, Netriplex also operates data centers in Boston, Atlanta, Dallas, San Jose, Seattle and London.
