July 3, 2008 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- Cloud computing management developer RightScale (rightscale.com) has announced RightScale Manager for MySQL Enterprise, a service designed to enable organizations to deploy MySQL databases within the Amazon Web Services cloud.
On Tuesday, RightScale customers were given access to RightScale's automation and scale-on-demand cloud management platform and MySQL Enterprise premium-level support for large database applications.
First announced last week at the Structure 08 Conference on cloud computing, Manager for MySQL Enterprise has enhanced scalability, flexibility and support, delivering pre-configured templates for all components required for high performance, reliable databases and is fully backed by MySQL Enterprise software and support. The company website published a demonstration of the product to show the individual features.
"RightScale has been successfully working together with Sun's database group for some time," RightScale co-founder and CEO Michael Crandell said in a press release. "Our new MySQL offering delivers the highest cloud computing performance with the world's most popular open source database -- a great step for our joint customers that require enterprise-grade support."
With a one-time initial support fee of $2,500, RightScale's cloud management platform has plans starting at $500 per month.
Early adopters of Manager for MySQL Enterprise include online video production company Animoto (animoto.com) and Californian foreclosure alert site ForeclosureRadar (foreclosureradar.com).
