(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- Telecommunications provider Verio (www.verio.com) announced on Monday it has launched a new Linux Virtual Private Server hosting program designed exclusively for viaVerio channel partners.
The company says it developed the new VPS hosting program to "help partners grow their business and gain new customers" through offering partners reduced pricing on all new Linux VPS plans and discounts of up to 50 percent on select plans.
Through the program, partners will continue to receive all of the same benefits, features, power and functionality of Verio's current Linux VPS solutions, but at a new lower price.
The VPS hosting program coincides with the Verio's new direction, which intends to shift from a 50/50 split between direct sales and indirect channel sales at the end of 2008 to a 90 percent indirect model by the end of 2009.
Qualifying partners of the program will be able to access the viaVerio sales team, a dedicated marketing resource comprised of sales reps and channel account managers, and the viaMail sales tool which is designed to create direct mail marketing campaigns.
As part of the program, any new Linux VPS opportunity coming in directly to Verio will be forwarded immediately to a partner to close.
Additionally, end user customers will receive an exclusive discount when working with a viaVerio partner.
"We are seeing strong demand for our Linux VPS solutions as SMBs further strengthen their online presence and it was important for us to create a program that would help our partners fully leverage this opportunity," says Scott Calvert, senior director of channel sales for Verio. "We announced our partner stimulus package earlier this year and this is just another way for us to invest in our partners and create programs that will help them grow their business in 2009 and beyond."
Through new tools and added support, the viaVerio Partner Program (www.viaverio.com) helps facilitate the way partners manage clients and accounts, effectively market and sell Verio's products, and generate a recurring revenue stream.
Along with the VPS hosting program, the company also launched its "stimulus package" at its partner conference in March.
The stimulus package is also targets participants in its viaVerio partner program, offering them a set of tools and resources to help partners gain new customers and develop a closer relationship with existing customers.

October 2009 - Web Hosting's All Star Team
This has been, for us, one of the most interesting, exciting and challenging build-ups to an issue of the magazine yet, Web Hosting's All Star Team. The balloting process was our first experiment with a kind of user participation we're planning to do a lot more with in the months to come. We had thousands of ballots submitted, with hundreds of write-in suggestions and a demonstration of user engagement that has us feeling super positive about the project.

July 2009 - What am I Worth?
One of the interesting luxuries of working on a project like the printed WHIR magazine is that it allows us to play with things like our point of view from one issue to the next. In recent months we've been giving added attention to the kind of practical and applicable advice aimed at smaller hosts and resellers. This issue carries on with that point of view, asking, in our cover story, "what am I worth?" It's a complicated question without a clear-cut answer.

May 2009 - The Blueprint for a Small Web Host
I was a little surprised by how difficult it became to see this idea through. We set out to assemble a blueprint for a small hosting business, but butted up pretty quickly against the general impossibility of covering all the territory that was out there to be covered. The basic constraints of a printed magazine, and the less-than-infinite amount of time we had available forced us to face the fact that we could never produce an exhaustive guide to starting a hosting company.
