June 22, 2007 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- Web hosting provider Crucial Paradigm (crucialp.com) has dropped celebrity blogger Perez Hilton's Web site (perezhilton.com), after the Web host sent numerous warnings to the site's administrator claiming that the site was in violation of copyrighted celebrity images.

Hilton's Web site, whose real name is Mario Lavandeira, was offline for a number of hours before it returned to the Internet, backed by a different Web host.

Hilton is currently named in four lawsuits involving eight photo agencies for his alleged theft of photographs that appear on his site, one that's been a popular gossip destination for some two-and-a-half years. Hilton frequently adds his own captions to the shots.

Crucial administrator warned Hoodlum Productions, the Los Angeles, California-based company that manages Hilton's site, that the site would be shut down if it received any more notices claiming copyright infringement, says Matt Lum, owner of Hoodlum Productions.

While Hilton's site is currently up and running, it has limited inter-activity. Hilton says that his actions fall under the fair use provision of the Copyright Act.
