Earlier this month Moniker announced details of the auction, which took bids in person and remotely through the SnapNames Live online auction platform, which is also operated by Moniker parent company Oversee (oversee.net) .
Overall, 105 domains were sold as the auction brought in an average sale price over $24,000 during the four hour event.
Individual investors and domain focused companies purchased various premium domains, including GasPrices.com and Insurancerates.com fetching $225,000 each, Rainbow.com selling for $170,000, Athlete.com for $122,000, ow.com for $120,000, RingTones.org for $120,000, Track.com for $92,500, Computerparts.com for $80,000 and Grass.com for $70,000.
Moniker is currently hosting an extended online auction in conjunction with last week's live events in Orlando, offering thousands of additional names including those not purchased at the Live Auction, such as Israel.com, Yachts.com, Hoodia.com and AffiliateProgram.com. The online auction will continue through May 29 with select auction inventory beginning to close at 11:00 a.m. EST.
The next live auction will be the SnapNames Live Domain Auction during the DomainerMeeting in Paris, France on June 20 at the Meridian Montparnasse Hotel.
Moniker, an Oversee company and the provider of domain asset management services, offers a range of business services that helps companies manage and maximize the value of their domains, including name creation, registration, acquisition, portfolio management, appraisal and escrow services and after-market sales.

It will be interesting to see how much money will be involved in the sale in the extended, online auction. Some names, and some of them pretty big, did not sell in the live event.
How does a seller accurately determine a proper value/sales price for such names?
