Verio Attracts Resellers with Free Month of VPS Hosting: Companies looking to boost revenues are finding Verio's Free VPS promotion the right fit for getting started as Hosting Reseller.

May 9, 2008 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- Web hosting provider Planet Online (planetonline.net) announced on Friday that it has acquired SeeMoreSearch (seemoresearch.com) - a company that "provides other businesses with better search results driving consumers to their respective websites" - in an effort to expand its services. Details of the transaction were not disclosed.

Planet Online will immediately begin offering search engine optimization services along with its current domain registration and web hosting services.

"SEO is a great way to drive more traffic to your site and an even better way to get the word out about services your business provides," says Greg Hill, VP of sales for Planet Online. "Planet Online hopes that by partnering with SeeMoreSearch we will be able to provide better options and services to better serve our clients' ever-expanding needs."

Planet Online says that by using the services provided by SeeMoreSearch, customers can immediately start seeing drastic increases in the number of visitors to their sites, which can ultimately lead to an increase in business as well. Planet Online adds that this acquisition will also give customers a chance to "really utilize a wide range of services without having to surf all over the web to find what they need to do business online."

While not a particularly well-known name in the hosting space, Planet Online says it is an established brand, existing since 1996 providing dedicated hosting, email hosting, colcation services and domain registration.

The acquisition follows several larger-scale deals to have taken place in the last week. On Tuesday web hosting provider Hostopia signed a deal to acquire Tucows' shared hosting customer assets, while last Thursday Australian web host Melbourne IT announced its had acquired VeriSign's global Digital Brand Services business for $50 million.
