Cobweb Uses Parallels Automation

By theWHIR.com , April 08, 2008

April 8, 2008 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- Web hosting software provider Parallels (parallels.com) announced on Tuesday that European Web hosting provider Cobweb (cobweb.com) will be the first service provider to use Parallels Automation with hosted Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0.

Parallels Automation for Dynamics CRM is a fully integrated customer relationship management system. Cobweb purchased the solution to automate the delivery of several new hosting offerings and service bundles, enabling service providers to go-to-market quickly and offer a complete back-office infrastructure for online ordering, service plan management and billing and payments.

Using a single login, service providers can deliver integrated offerings that include multiple services such as hosted Microsoft Exchange, hosted Windows SharePoint Services and hosted Microsoft Dynamics CRM.  "We are pleased that Cobweb is using the full potential of our Parallels Automation solution to powerfully provision and manage a collection of hosting services as a single, centralized system," says Serguei Beloussov, CEO of Parallels. "This deployment demonstrates how Parallels Open Platform is helping service providers deliver advanced business applications using the software as a service delivery model." Parallels Automation for Dynamics CRM includes pre-defined deployments, installation services and marketing support. Service providers pay a one-time implementation fee as well as monthly licensing fees based on the number of active users.

And as of last week, Parellels Automation has integrated Google Message Filtering email offering, enabling users to have access to Google Apps security and compliance package. The offering provides users with real-time spam and virus filtering, attack blocking and email traffic monitoring. As one of Europe's leading providers of hosted Microsoft Exchange services, Cobweb is ISO27001 and ISO9001 accredited, as well as a Microsoft Gold Partner with five core competencies. The company offers a range of managed services including Hosted Microsoft Exchange and Microsoft SharePoint with mobile and archival solutions, web and SaaS hosting, and white-label hosting for reseller and referral partners.

October 2009 - Web Hosting's All Star Team
This has been, for us, one of the most interesting, exciting and challenging build-ups to an issue of the magazine yet, Web Hosting's All Star Team. The balloting process was our first experiment with a kind of user participation we're planning to do a lot more with in the months to come. We had thousands of ballots submitted, with hundreds of write-in suggestions and a demonstration of user engagement that has us feeling super positive about the project.

July 2009 - What am I Worth?
One of the interesting luxuries of working on a project like the printed WHIR magazine is that it allows us to play with things like our point of view from one issue to the next. In recent months we've been giving added attention to the kind of practical and applicable advice aimed at smaller hosts and resellers. This issue carries on with that point of view, asking, in our cover story, "what am I worth?" It's a complicated question without a clear-cut answer.

May 2009 - The Blueprint for a Small Web Host
I was a little surprised by how difficult it became to see this idea through. We set out to assemble a blueprint for a small hosting business, but butted up pretty quickly against the general impossibility of covering all the territory that was out there to be covered. The basic constraints of a printed magazine, and the less-than-infinite amount of time we had available forced us to face the fact that we could never produce an exhaustive guide to starting a hosting company.
