RIS Technology Hosts Miss Universe

April 4, 2006 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- Internet hosting company RIS Technology (ristech.net) announced on Monday that it has signed a multi-year agreement with the Miss Universe Organization, producers of the Miss Universe, Miss USA and Miss Teen USA competitions.

"We found the combination of RIS' expertise and experience in hosting large scale media events and their excellent customer service very attractive," says Paula M. Shugart, president of the Miss Universe Organization. "We were impressed by RIS' reliable infrastructure, and are confident that we won't have to worry about scalability and performance during our upcoming telecasts."

RIS' managed event hosting solution provides a high-availability hosting platform coupled with dynamic server capacity and global content distribution for the Miss Universe Organization. The solution is fully redundant and performance optimized, from the enterprise quality servers to the fully meshed network, load balancers, and security devices.

RIS has provided Web hosting services for numerous high profile events including the Hollywood Foreign Press Association's Golden Globe awards and The Recording Academy's Grammy awards. Its multiple, dynamically scaled Web servers and a worldwide content distribution service ensures that customers' sites perform optimally throughout the telecasts.

March 2010 - Web Hosting in Europe
Europe cuts an interesting figure in our coverage of the web hosting industry. From a purely news standpoint, it is very possible to treat Europe in more or less the same way that we treat North America - that is, report the facts, ask the right questions, try to anticipate the issues raised. From an analytical standpoint, however, we present a distinctly North American point of view - this being the product of circumstances (our location), rather than a bias.

January 2010 - Hottest Hosts Directory
In 2008, in our inaugural Hottest Hosts guide, I wrote that we were exploring a new format with the first in-print directory of web hosting services. And last year, I discussed the project in the context of an ongoing project, and a growing tradition here at the Web Host Industry Review. The objective, however, is not to repeat ourselves, but to help the directory evolve into a more valuable resource - something that's going to help you with your purchasing decisions, and something you're going to hold on to for the duration of the year.
