Verio Adds Nominum Name Server

April 3, 2006 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- Network naming and addressing solution provider Nominum (nominum.com) announced on Monday that it has provided Web hosting provider Verio (verio.com) with its foundation authoritative name server.

The upgrade of Verio's existing authoritative DNS servers with Nominum's commercial grade ANS servers has increased capacity threefold and reduced downtime significantly, and it enables Verio to better meet service levels agreements to its growing subscriber base.

Nominum ANS provides DNS information for a specific set of Internet name spaces. It optimizes function and performance for each role by separating authoritative and caching DNS functions in distinct products.

"We implemented Nominum's ANS on our DNS server infrastructure and within an hour we were able to integrate it into our existing system with zero downtime, giving us the service assurance and delivery that our customers depend on," says Fred Martin, VP of operations at Verio.
