April 1, 2008 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- Managed IT and VoIP services provider mindSHIFT Technologies (mindshift.com) announced on Tuesday it has acquired software as a service solutions provider Collaboration Online, which includes subsidiaries, groupSPARK (groupspark.com) and AgileWave CRM (agilewavecrm.com).

"Collaboration Online dramatically expands our market reach," says Paul Chisholm, mindSHIFT chairman and CEO. "We are now able to provide small and mid-size businesses with additional enterprise-class messaging and collaboration tools which will assist them in increasing growth and corporate productivity. It also enables us to expand our geographic reach considerably."

Founded in 2002, Collaboration Online provides hosted Microsoft Exchange Server, Windows SharePoint Services and Microsoft Dynamics CRM to partners and small and mid-size businesses under multiple brands, including groupSPARK and AgileWave.

The company also offers a hosted SaaS solution as a private label service through a reseller channel. Resellers can market the company's hosted services under their own brands using its Private Label Application Delivery platform, which enables channel partners to resell the services as part of their own product offering.

The acquisition provides mindSHIFT with a significant growth opportunity in the SMB market to provide a wider range of enterprise-class hosted services, an automated and scalable provisioning and support platform that drastically reduces the costs of customer acquisition and support and a proven reseller program.

MindSHIFT, which has operations in Boston, New York, Philadelphia and Washington D.C., provides managed IT services, SaaS, VoIP, compliance, e-business application development and professional services to SMBs.

Last week, groupSPARK announced it is now offering Windows Service Pack 1 for hosted SharePoint 3.0, which includes new enhancements and upgrades.
