Verio Attracts Resellers with Free Month of VPS Hosting: Companies looking to boost revenues are finding Verio's Free VPS promotion the right fit for getting started as Hosting Reseller.

March 4, 2008 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- Australian accounting and small business software tools provider MYOB (myob.com.au) has acquired Australian Web hosting provider Ilisys (ilisys.com.au) for an undisclosed amount, as reported by technology news site iTWire (itwire.com).

MYOB says it provides accounting software, payroll software and real-time business management tools to more than 700,000 businesses worldwide.

Ilisys notified customers of the acquisition via a letter, which said, "very little will change as a result of the sale," and, "MYOB will continue conducting business using the Ilisys name." The letter continued by saying that Ilisys would maintain its present management and staff, and that the only "visible change" would be in the MYOB logo and ABN appearing on future documents, such as customer invoices and receipts.

As iTWire points out in its article, if MYOB is contemplating a move into the software as a services market with its purchase of Ilisys, the acquisition of an established Web host with significant expertise and infrastructure is a good first step.
