(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- Virtualization and cloud hosting services provider iland Internet Solutions (www.iland.com) announced on Monday at the Channel Partners Conference & Expo (www.channelpartnersconference.com) it has launched its first partner program.
The news follows last month's announcement that iland had joined the VMware Service Provider Program, giving iland customers access to VMware's virtualization-enabled solutions, applications and services.
By joining the partner program, agents and resellers will be able to meet their client's financial and technical needs by offering them iland's cost-effective IT solutions.
Among the services included through the program are virtualization, cloud services over high-availability VMware, colocation, high-speed IP connectivity, managed network and security services, disaster recovery solutions, mission-critical dedicated services and SAN storage.
"After extensive research, our team has created a robust partner support system that includes a partner portal, a simple and competitive pricing structure, contract generation, marketing resources, customer event assistance and lead generation activities," says Brian Ussher, president of iland Internet Solutions. "Iland is committed to the success of its flexible partner options, which includes an agent program, reseller program and a referral program, and we are available for constant training and pre and post sales and technical support, to insure a positive, cost-effective experience for partners and end users."
According to the press release, iland's partner program offers many benefits for agents and resellers.
These include the ability to offer a full range of virtualization solutions will help them retain customers, support from iland's certified VMware team that will guide them through using the cloud, the ability to increase their own revenue with a partner reward/discount structure, and access to new iland products and services that will attract new clients and new target markets.
Hosted services provider Apptix also recently launched a new partner program.

October 2009 - Web Hosting's All Star Team
This has been, for us, one of the most interesting, exciting and challenging build-ups to an issue of the magazine yet, Web Hosting's All Star Team. The balloting process was our first experiment with a kind of user participation we're planning to do a lot more with in the months to come. We had thousands of ballots submitted, with hundreds of write-in suggestions and a demonstration of user engagement that has us feeling super positive about the project.

July 2009 - What am I Worth?
One of the interesting luxuries of working on a project like the printed WHIR magazine is that it allows us to play with things like our point of view from one issue to the next. In recent months we've been giving added attention to the kind of practical and applicable advice aimed at smaller hosts and resellers. This issue carries on with that point of view, asking, in our cover story, "what am I worth?" It's a complicated question without a clear-cut answer.

May 2009 - The Blueprint for a Small Web Host
I was a little surprised by how difficult it became to see this idea through. We set out to assemble a blueprint for a small hosting business, but butted up pretty quickly against the general impossibility of covering all the territory that was out there to be covered. The basic constraints of a printed magazine, and the less-than-infinite amount of time we had available forced us to face the fact that we could never produce an exhaustive guide to starting a hosting company.
