February 26, 2007 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- Web hosting provider Hosting.com (hosting.com) announced on Monday it has added its second data center in Louisville, Kentucky, the location of its corporate headquarters. The new downtown Tier III data center will feature 16,500 square feet of data center space, N+1 cooling and N+2 power redundancy, both AC and DC power capabilities and a high density blade center that will allow customers 30 kilowatts of power for their equipment.

"We're excited about growing our managed hosting and colocation businesses at our headquarters in Louisville. We have spent the last nine months evaluating facilities all over the US, and we're pleased to select Louisville for this expansion," says Darren King, president and CEO of Hosting.com. "To our knowledge, this will be the largest commercial data center in the Commonwealth of Kentucky that was built as a data center from the ground up. There simply is not another facility like in the area."

After analyzing data centers around the nation for potential expansions, Hosting.com decided to take best practices from other great technology markets such as Silicon Valley, Boston and Los Angeles and apply them to Louisville where labor, power and infrastructure costs are considerably lower.

Hosting.com currently owns and operates data centers in Irvine, California and its first Louisville facility, which it plans to keep following the new data center grand opening in June 2007. The Web host has already started reserving capacity for its national and international customers in the new data center who are attracted to Louisville, while continuing to pursue data center acquisitions in other markets.
