Verio Attracts Resellers with Free Month of VPS Hosting: Companies looking to boost revenues are finding Verio's Free VPS promotion the right fit for getting started as Hosting Reseller.

February 25, 2008 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- Web hosting software provider Parallels (parallels.com), a company that until recently was known as SWsoft, announced on Monday that its Plesk control panel software has been helping Web hosting reseller Progress Technologies' (progresstechnologies.com) customers to lower costs by more than 30 percent as well as self-administer tasks like email, account creation and domain management.

Progress, which resells Parallels solutions through Web hosting provider PEER 1, is offering Parallels Plesk control panel with its Web hosting plans. Because the software delivers a cost-effective per client per server model, Progress says it is also using it to drive new sales by enabling potential customers to "test-drive" the software before purchase.

"After looking at cPanel and other control panels, we chose Parallels Plesk control panel because it provides an affordable solution that allows us to portray how we want to be seen as a company," says Tony Nestor, CEO of Progress Technologies. "Parallels software allows us to stay competitive by exceeding customer expectations with a complete set of innovative tools that far outpace those offered by our competition."

Last week, Parallels and mail server vendor AXIGEN offered an integrated AXIGEN Mail Server and Parallels Virtuozzo Containers solution targeted towards service providers offering virtualized hosting environments.
