LINX Picks Redbus Data Center

February 22, 2006 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- Non-profit data exchange The London Internet Exchange (linx.net) announced on Wednesday that its new connection point at Redbus Interhouse’s (interhouse.net) Meridian Gate has gone live.

LINX now has facilities in each of Redbus Interhouse’s London data centers, providing ISPs with greater selection as to where they make their peering connection in London. LINX connects the networks of content delivery and Internet service providers to enable a more efficient traffic flow between the two.

Redbus Interhouse says it is one of the largest exchange points in the world, in terms of the traffic that passes over its network and the Internet routes which are directly accessible from its peering LAN Meridian Gate. It provides LINX with secure infrastructure, stable high-capacity power supplies, class fire protection system, in-house support and environmental controls.

"The connection point at Meridian Gate will provide an increased level of choice and service to both new and existing members," says John Souter, CEO of LINX. "Ultimately, everyone benefits - including individual Internet users from a thriving Internet exchange such as LINX."

Redbus Interhouse was acquired by data center operator TeleCity in November of 2005.
