February 21, 2007 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- Data center automation software provider BladeLogic (bladelogic.com) announced on Tuesday that sophisticated defense industry contractor General Dynamics (generaldynamics.com) has selected portions of BladeLogic's suite of data center automation solutions. This will ensure that General Dynamics will continue to meet the regulatory and operational polices across all of its data center environments.
General Dynamics will use BladeLogic's Discovery and Compliance modules across all of its business units to ensure they fully comply with established corporate security policies based on standards from the Center for Internet Security and the National Institute of Standards and Technology, as well as regulatory policies such as Sarbanes-Oxley, the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act and the Federal Information Security Management Act.
Using BladeLogic, General Dynamics will be able to automate the definition and documentation of policies that establish recommended configurations for servers and applications, and schedule regular scans of its server and application environments to track compliance with those policies. "In today's environment, the need for organizations to maintain compliance to a number of different regulatory and operational policies is fundamental to running the business," says Dev Ittycheria, president and CEO of BladeLogic. "By choosing BladeLogic, General Dynamics will be able to automate the process to audit the state of compliance of its highly sophisticated and disparate server and application environments around the world. We are very proud to add General Dynamics to our list of customers."
