February 20, 2007 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- Telecommunications provider NTT America (nttamerica.com) announced on Tuesday that it has expanded its network footprint in New York City to now include the NYC Connect facility at 111 Eighth Avenue.

Through this expansion, NTT Communications says that its global IP network adds to its exponentially growing network by increasing its IP connectivity to Europe and Canada. NYC Connect will now be able to expand its reach and increase the strength of NTT Communications' global Tier 1 IP backbone.

The agreement will also enable existing and potential local customers to access the Internet at connection speeds up to 10Gbps Ethernet. NYC Connect enables enterprises to connect to numerous service providers, such as NTT America, and ensure enhanced flexibility, efficiency and interconnection.

"NYC Connect's customers now have access to an alternative global carrier for their IP networking needs, which will allow them to connect to the strongest Asia-Pacific network available today," says Tetsuro Yamaguchi, president and CEO of NTT America. "Ultimately, this agreement solidifies NTT America's position as a global leader offering Tier 1 IP backbone support and IPv6 technologies by expanding the footprint of our network."
