Verio Attracts Resellers with Free Month of VPS Hosting: Companies looking to boost revenues are finding Verio's Free VPS promotion the right fit for getting started as Hosting Reseller.

February 14, 2008 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- Telecommunications provider Verizon Business (verizonbusiness.com) announced on Wednesday that it has successfully completed its annual SAS 70 Type II examination for the company's IP application hosting centers, or Smart Centers, and Internet colocation facilities. Verizon also passed the SAS 70 Type II examination for its remote IP application management operations center for the third consecutive year.

Ernst & Young performed examinations for the Smart Centers and colocation facilities, addressing control objectives and controls specified by Verizon Business and their operating effectiveness at the company's managed and Internet colocation centers.

Verizon's RAM operations center was audited by Moss Adams, which closely reviewed and tested the control environment and examined control objectives in the areas of organizational structure, governance and administration, physical and environmental controls, logical access controls, and system availability and performance.

"Verizon Business is dedicated to providing its enterprise customers with the very best," says Michael Marcellin, VP of product marketing for Verizon Business. "Continuing to successfully complete our SAS 70 examinations, year after year after year, demonstrates our keen commitment to excellence and high-performance environments."

Verizon recently promoted Richard G. Black to senior VP of sales in its corporate and government markets division.
