Equinix Announces Quarter Results

February 12, 2007 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- Data center operator Equinix (equinix.com) recently announced its quarterly and year-end results for the period ended December 31, 2006.
Equinix reported that revenues were $79.8 million for the fourth quarter and $286.9 million for the year-ended December 31 representing an 8 percent increase over the previous quarter, and a 30 percent increase over 2005 revenues. The company also added 81 new customers, for a total of 1,290, including Chicago Mercantile Exchange, Netflix, Network Appliance and Timex.
In addition, Equinix announced an agreement to acquire its flagship Silicon Valley IBX center in San Jose, California for $65 million and an incremental expansion in its Singapore IBX for $12 million, which will provide approximately 450 cabinets.
"2006 was another strong year of growth for the Company," says Peter Van Camp, chairman and CEO of Equinix. "Our business execution, expansion program and momentum as we completed the year provide a solid foundation to continue to build on our market leadership position in 2007."
