(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- Cloud computing and managed IT services provider BlueLock (www.bluelock.com) has announced a new set of cloud computing solutions providing a comprehensive suite of Infrastructure-as-a-Service environments to best fit the specific needs of individual applications.
According to its Tuesday announcement, the BlueLock CloudSuite is an array of public and private cloud computing solutions based on VMware's virtualization technology. The CloudSuite includes public computing options BlueLock vCloud Express, BlueLock Virtual Cloud Professional and BlueLock Virtual Cloud Enterprise that offer self-service and expertly-managed enterprise environments, as well as virtual private cloud solutions, which can be secured on or off-premise.
"As our clients have continued to push us to offer different classes of cloud services, we've realized one size does not fit all when it comes to cloud computing," said BlueLock president and chief executive officer John Qualls said in a statement. "The BlueLock CloudSuite was developed with the understanding that every application has different needs, so rather than force-fitting your application into a cloud, you can pick and choose the right solution for higher efficiency and performance at the right price."
BlueLock vCloud Express is suited for test and development teams, startup environments as well as departmental needs, with its quick setup and self-service abilities that let clients log in and start testing in minutes without any assistance from BlueLock.
BlueLock Virtual Cloud Professional is for clients who need a production environment hosted and managed by outside professionals. It also provides the additional security features and performance to host important applications.
Offering an even more resilient and scalable cloud hosting environment designed specifically for mission-critical applications, BlueLock Virtual Cloud Enterprise offers life sciences, financial services, government clients with the service they need to to meet strict compliance, performance and disaster recovery requirements.
BlueLock Virtual Private Cloud is the company's 100-percent virtual, fully-managed, encapsulated private cloud environment. It can be installed at a user's data center or inside the BlueLock facility. Wherever the cloud is located, it has its own dedicated capacity and security features, but with the ability to burst into the BlueLock Cloud.
"As a top VMware vCloud service provider partner, BlueLock continues to demonstrate that it is innovative and ahead of the curve in understanding their clients' needs," VMware Cloud infrastructure and services vice president Dan Chu said in a statement. "The dynamic combination of the industry-leading VMware platform and BlueLock's secure and reliable cloud hosting and infrastructure expertise provides the confidence needed to run vital applications in the most efficient manner for all types of clients - from developers to Fortune 500 enterprises."

July 2010 - What's Next? Forecasting Hosting's Future
Technically, there's nothing new about us posing the question, "what are the next steps hosting providers must take to capitalize on the opportunities available in the business?" From the 10,000-foot view, that's the basic premise that underlies just about everything the WHIR publishes or produces. In this particular case, however, we're looking at it through an extremely significant contextual lens. That is, for much of the last two years, hosting providers have been operating in a business climate defined by an economy in crisis.

March 2010 - Web Hosting in Europe
Europe cuts an interesting figure in our coverage of the web hosting industry. From a purely news standpoint, it is very possible to treat Europe in more or less the same way that we treat North America - that is, report the facts, ask the right questions, try to anticipate the issues raised. From an analytical standpoint, however, we present a distinctly North American point of view - this being the product of circumstances (our location), rather than a bias.

January 2010 - Hottest Hosts Directory
In 2008, in our inaugural Hottest Hosts guide, I wrote that we were exploring a new format with the first in-print directory of web hosting services. And last year, I discussed the project in the context of an ongoing project, and a growing tradition here at the Web Host Industry Review. The objective, however, is not to repeat ourselves, but to help the directory evolve into a more valuable resource - something that's going to help you with your purchasing decisions, and something you're going to hold on to for the duration of the year.
