February 6, 2007 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- Web hosting provider SoftLayer Technologies (softlayer.com) announced on Monday it has upgraded its data center with low voltage Intel and AMD processors combined with SuperMicro high-efficiency servers, continuing its environmentally friendly focus.

"Low power used to mean low performance, but those days are long gone," says Sam Fleitman, chief operating officer of SoftLayer. "We are now able to reduce the need for escalating power requirements while still being able to sustain maximum performance."

SoftLayer's newest data center deployment uses environmentally friendly technologies which optimize the efficiency of the data center.
