Web Host Cyber Host Pro Adds New Manchester Space
- By David Hamilton, February 05, 2010
(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- Essentially giving all customers a no-cost service upgrade, UK hosting provider Cyber Host Pro (www.cyberhostpro.com) has opened new data center space in Manchester, providing greater efficiencies of scale, plus newer, more economical technology.
UPDATE: The new space is the result of a colocation agreement with M247 Ltd (www.m247.com), a European content delivery and Internet infrastructure provider.
According to Cyber Host Pro's Friday announcement, the new facilities and new technology have sharply cut Cyber Host Pro's operating expenses, and this savings will be passed onto its direct customers and resellers by way of upgraded and enhanced hosting packages that basically offer more than doubled their current servers resources.
"Overall, we've more than doubled their resources on our servers," Cyber Host Pro president Chris Danks said in a statement. "We've doubled the bandwidth and disk space for all our packages, and we now provide more than twice as many databases and sub domains for most packages. Website hosting has never been more economical, especially when you consider the extensive range of new services we provide."
New services include Smartermail 6 Enterprise Edition (www.smartertools.com/SmarterMail/), a top webmail interface for managing email, calendars, contacts, tasks and notes. It enables drag-and-drop, keyboard shortcuts, pop-up windows, snapping panes, splitters and tab controls, and also supports full collaboration, with shared calendars, tasks, notes and folders, as well as reminders and alerts.
"Essentially, Smartermail 6 is a viable, lower-cost alternative to Microsoft Exchange, and we are delighted to be offering it," says Danks. SmarterMail can synchronise with Microsoft Outlook, Blackberry, iPhone or Windows Phone, using readily available, free tools. Cyber Host Pro also provides an easy-to-use tool for migrating email accounts from other providers, such as Gmail, Hotmail, Yahoo!, Excite, Lycos and others.
Danks says Cyber Host Pro has also expanded its online and phone support to round-the-clock support for customers in the UK, Continental Europe and in the US.
Another benefit of the new facility with its faster servers is that Cyber Host Pro now offers an expanded range of website hosting, including VPS and "Virtual Dedicated Server" hosting, which provides similar flexibility of a dedicated server at a far reduced price.

This isn't *their* datacentre, though?

Thanks for the comments. You're right that Cyber Host Pro didn't build its own data center from scratch. It did, however, gain data center space via a colocation deal. The original announcement from the company was vague on this issue.
I have confirmed that their latest data center space is from a M247 facility in Manchester.
Sorry for any confusion.

There is no confusion here, the previous poster just needs to read the article properly.....
Top marks for Cyberhostpro
