(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- After reliably hosting ColdFusion 9 sites for more than six months, web host and domain registrar CrystalTech Web Hosting (www.crystaltech.com) has released Adobe ColdFusion 9 (www.adobe.com/products/coldfusion/) hosting plans, enabling customers to use the latest version of Adobe's ColdFusion platform to rapidly build rich Internet applications with fewer lines of code.

The web hosting arm of Newtek Business Services (www.newtekbusinessservices.com), CrystalTech, was one of the first Adobe-sanctioned web hosts to offer ColdFusion 9 beta hosting last summer. In preparation for the Monday launch, CrystalTech has been working closely with developers and reliably hosting live ColdFusion 9 sites for more than six months.

"When ColdFusion 9 beta first became available last year, we jumped at the chance to offer hosting plans for it, just as we have with previous versions of the framework," CrystalTech president Bob Cichon said in a statement. "More importantly, we wanted our own ColdFusion development community to have ample time to stress test their applications so we could move forward knowing that our offering will be among the most reliable and highest performing on the market."

ColdFusion 9 software helps developers build web applications rapidly by condensing complex business logic into fewer lines of code. It also features enhanced integration with the Adobe Flash Platform and tight integration with Adobe's first ever ColdFusion IDE, ColdFusion Builder.

"We've fiercely supported the ColdFusion community since the days of ColdFusion 4.0 more than a decade ago," Cichon said. "With several notable improvements in the new version, we're thrilled at the chance to provide a home for the next generation of ColdFusion applications."

CrystalTech's ColdFusion offerings include three shared hosting plans running ColdFusion 9, Enterprise Edition, on Windows Server 2008 and Microsoft IIS7 servers. The hosting packages start at $16.95 per month for the basic package, which includes 2,000 MB of disk space, 200 GB bandwidth, 4 GB of email space, 400 MB of Microsoft SQL disk space, and 400 MB for MySQL.

The most robust package is available for $36.95 per month, and includes 4,000 MB of disk space, 600 GB of bandwidth, 8 GB of email space, 1,200 MB of Microsoft SQL disk space, and 1,200 MB for MySQL.

Adobe officially launched ColdFusion 9 in October 2009 and has since been used in consumer and reseller offerings from web host Hostek.com (www.hostek.com), and in a new virtual private server product from VPS hosting provider KickAssVPS (www.kickassvps.com). The wide adoption of a platform like ColdFusion 9 is a significant accolade for the product's viability and, importantly, its stability.
