January 25, 2007 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- Security solutions provider Top Layer Networks (toplayer.com) announced on Wednesday it has implemented its Top Layer IPS 5500 in hosted Exchange and Web hosting provider Solutions SherWeb (sherweb.com). The move will help SherWeb fight effectively cyber attacks and protect its customer's critical online assets from numerous network threats. 

Using the new equipment, SherWeb can better serve its ever growing international customer base. The company is currently serving more than 25,000 Web sites belonging to thousands of customers from more than 25 countries worldwide with a strong presence in the UK, Canada, United State, France and China. 

Faced with a growing number of DDoS attacks, Solutions Sherweb sought a solution that could block malicious traffic and ensure availability for its customers. The Web host researched the available IPS solutions for a solution that would best mitigate attacks against its business. It eventually chose Top Layer Networks for its ability to protect against rate based and content based attacks.
